Tea to Improve Your Health

I haven't tried any of these teas since I just read the article, but this is what they suggest for different health issues:

1. Joint Pain - Rose Hips. Relieves arthritis symptoms by 37% in some studies and has essential fatty acids and immunity boosting nutrients, they have 20 times more vitamin C than an orange.

2. Insomnia - Passionflower. Eases nervousness and restlessness but won't cause grogginess. It has natural sedatives that cure insomnia and lead to deeper, longer sleep.

3. Bloating - Dandelions. A natural detoxifier and diuretic, triggers the kidneys to flush out excess salt and fluids at a much faster rate. Helps the liver release toxins. Loaded with Vitamins A, C, and Calcium making it more nutritious than broccoli.

4. Stomachache - Marigolds. Anti-inflammatory compounds relax stomach muscles, ease swelling and digestion problems. Petals are antibacterial, killing illness-causing microbes in the intestines on contact.

5. Eyestrain - Chrysanthemums. Has antioxidants that soothe overworked eyes and tension headaches. Detoxifies teh body, breaking down indoor pollutants and imputities.

6. Stress - Jasmine. Eases stress, anxiety and tension. Can reduce heart rate, relax muscles and calm anxiety in as little as five minutes.

7. Cholesterol - Hibiscus. Rich in Phenols and antioxidants, lowers cholesterol and high blood pressure.

Although you might have the urge to run outside and raid your flower garden and whip up some tea, until you know what you are doing, buy it at a health food store instead. Home brews without the knowledge required to make a safe tea, can have hazardous effects.
