The Amazing Cacti

There are more than 2000 species of cacti in the desert. The most powerful of them can help you in many ways! I was reading these in a magazine and wanted to pass along to you.

Dragon Fruit
The fruit from this cactus tastes like Kiwi and is packed iwth antioxidants, fiber, and vitamin C. It has been proven to lower blood sugar, prevent and help manage diabetes. You can find it dried at Health Food stores or in juice drinks.

Agave
The natural sweetener from the agave cactus is rich in inulin, a fiber that prevents stomach upset by promoting healthy bacteria in the intestines. It has no chemicals or side-effects. You can use this in place of sugar or honey. It's a very nice tasting nectar, sweet but not sicky sweet (I bought some).

Hoodia Gordonii
The San tribe of South Africa relied on hoodia for energy on hunting trips and could go days without eating. Hoodia signals the brain to feel fell faster, so you eat less without trying. On the average, using hoodia, people eat 1000 calories less per day without feeling hungry. If you go buy Hoodia, make sure that it is the real thing. To find it, look for brands with a legal permit to export. Some brands are lovate Health Sciences Hoodia Sure or Hoodia DEX-L10 that have the real thing.

Prickly Pear
Drink a glass of prickly pear juice about 5 hours before you're going to go drinking and you'll avoid or severely diminish the effects of those nasty hangovers! Prickly pear blocks the tissue inflammation that alcohol causes. If you're not going drinking, drink some prickly pear juice just to be more alert during your day! (I bought this in a tinctature which I add to my tea in the morning)

Nopal
These cactus leaves are packed with calcium, iron, and phytochemicals, and powerful antioxidants. They taste like green beans and can be added to salsa and soup or look for nopal powder and dissolve 600 mg into a glass of water daily. This leave was found to kill cancer cells on contact in labs.
